With over 25 years’ experience in the software industry, Jim Hornstein founded Rivertown Technologies in 2014 with the goal of providing enterprise class technology services and solutions to the small business owner.
An expert technologist and technical services manager, Jim has a proven track record of delivering successful enterprise solutions to clients by focusing on the needs of his customers in the context of adding long term business value. At Rivertown Technologies, his mission is to bring enterprise experience and expertise to the small business arena providing guidance, recommendations and services that add value to his clients’ business and reduce long term operational cost.
Jim’s career experience ranges from small startups to the world’s largest software company. He has held positions in both pre and post sales services as a manager, as well as an individual contributor. Jim’s past experience includes 15 years at Microsoft’s Consulting Services Division rising through the ranks as a Senior Consultant and Architect focused on Systems Management and Infrastructure Engineering, and eventually as a Senior Engagement Manager. At Microsoft, Jim’s customers included global financial and professional services organizations such as JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, KPMG, PWC and Morgan Stanley.
Jim also spent time at Veeam Software where he worked in the role of Regional Manager of Systems Engineering for East Coast, Canada and Federal regions. Jim has held roles as a technical consultant and application developer with smaller organizations including Verity Inc (Mountainview CA), TAG (Scarsdale, NY) and JYACC (New York, NY).
